Adoption is very close to us, naturally, as we have adopted our two daughters. Adoption is necessary only because we live in an imperfect world. In a perfect world, every child would be with their biological father and mother and be provided for physically and emotionally. They would know the secure love of a family who would point them to their Heavenly Father.
But because our world is broken, there are children who are abandoned, neglected, abused, sold and relinquished for various reasons. Without someone to intervene on their behalf what will become of these children? How will they know love? The love of their Heavenly Father?
Adoption isn't the only solution to the problem but it is a piece of it.
It is a tangible representation of what God did for us. He adopted us into His family and made us His children because of what Jesus did on the cross for us.
